Derek Mangum, a North Carolina native, brings a diverse professional background and extensive market knowledge to his role at Maverick Partners. He began his career at Duke University Health Systems in the Department of Medicine’s Business Office before transitioning into real estate, where he gained valuable experience with Ticon Properties, a Durham-based residential and commercial leasing firm, managing 300 residential units with a focus on tenant relations, retention, and property maintenance. Derek joined Maverick Partners in 2004 as a broker and has since advanced to Vice President, representing buyers, sellers, tenants, and landlords throughout the Triangle region. He is an active member of the Triangle Commercial Association of Realtors (TCAR) and a candidate member of CCIM. Outside of work, Derek enjoys chess, tennis, photography, and golf, and he is married with two children.
